Terms of use

The short version, in plain words.

Last updated 5 October 2026.

The service

Hush is a private beta, not a finished product. It's an invitation-only noise-filtering service for calls you make through your own WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal account. It's provided as-is, with no uptime or support guarantee, while it's in beta.

Who can use it

Hush is invitation-only. An organizer approves every member personally, and there's no public sign-up. Hush is currently capped at ten members sharing five calls at once. You need an invitation code, and a WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal account you already control, to use it.

Your WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal account

This part is worth reading carefully. Hush connects to your account on WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal as a linked device, the same mechanism as WhatsApp Web, Telegram Web or Signal Desktop. Those services are run by their own companies, not Alakazam, and Hush is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp/Meta, Telegram or Signal.

Using a linked-device tool like Hush may not be something those services' own terms of use anticipate, and we haven't obtained any special permission from WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal to operate this way. If linking Hush ever causes one of those services to limit, suspend or lock your account, that's a risk you're taking on by using Hush. It's between you and that service, and Alakazam can't promise to fix or reverse it.

What Hush does and doesn't do

Hush filters background noise on your call audio. It never reads, sends or stores your chat messages on WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal. Call audio is encrypted in transit; it is not end-to-end encrypted, because Hush's relay briefly decrypts it to apply the filter. Hush is audio-only. It doesn't support video calls, isn't a cellular phone service, and can't be used to reach emergency numbers.

Your access can be ended

Your organizer can disable or remove your access at any time, for any reason, including misuse of the service or of someone else's WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal account. You can stop using Hush and disconnect it yourself at any time from Settings, or ask us to delete your account entirely. See Privacy for how.

Acceptable use

No warranty, limited liability

Hush is a free beta, provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Alakazam isn't liable for dropped calls, lost messages, account action taken by WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal, or any other damages arising from your use of Hush.

Changes

We may update these terms as the beta changes. Continuing to use Hush after an update means you accept the new terms.
