How Hush handles your data.
Last updated 6 October 2026.
What leaves your device
Only a few things ever leave your phone, and only when you actually use Hush:
- The phone number, or WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal name, you choose to call, sent so Hush can place that call.
- Your call audio, streamed to Hush's server while a call is active, so it can filter background noise.
- A device identifier and a push-notification token, so an incoming call can reach you.
What stays on your device
Hush reads your contacts to show you a list to call from, but your address book is never uploaded. Only the one contact you actually dial is ever sent anywhere. You can also pick a single contact without granting Hush access to the rest.
What Hush's server stores
Hush keeps a small amount of account data so your membership and call history work:
- Your member name, and a hashed version of your invitation and session codes, never the code itself.
- The device identifier and push token above, kept while your device is registered.
- Call metadata: who a call was with, when, how long, and how it ended. Not what was said.
Hush doesn't store call audio, chat messages, or your contact list. Nothing is sent to an analytics or advertising service.
How your account works
Hush connects as a linked device to the WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal account you already use, the same way WhatsApp Web, Telegram Web or Signal Desktop does. It acts only when you tap Call or Answer, and never reads or sends your messages.
The relay that filters your audio runs on Hush's own server. It isn't on your phone, and it isn't a server you own or control. Call audio is encrypted in transit between your device and that server. It is not end-to-end encrypted, because the relay has to decrypt the audio briefly to apply the noise filter before passing it on.
Third parties
WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal are run by their own companies, not Alakazam. Linking your account gives Hush's hosted device the same access any linked device would have to that account. Hush is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp/Meta, Telegram or Signal.
Hush's server runs on Microsoft Azure. No other third party processes your data, and nothing here is sold or shared for advertising.
Deleting your data
"Disconnect Hush access" in Settings stops your linked device immediately and signs you out. On its own, it doesn't erase your Hush membership record.
To delete your account and data, tap "Delete my Hush account and data" in the app's Settings, use the web app's settings, or email hugo@alakazam.gg with the subject "Delete my Hush account". In the app or web app it happens right away; by email, within 30 days. Either way, Hush removes your membership, invitation, sessions, registered devices and call history from its server. This never touches your WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal account. Remove the linked device yourself from that app's own settings (for WhatsApp: Settings → Linked devices). See Delete your Hush account for the details.
Children
Hush is a private beta for family and friends, admitted one at a time by an organizer. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if what Hush collects changes, and update the date above when we do.
